I just can’t seem to write consistently in this blog so I am going to have to learn to live with being inconsistent. Now that I have that off my chest, here’s how the last weekend went down:
Friday – It was time for the 3rd and final art show over at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art. We stayed longer this time than ever, as Julie wanted to wait until the show was over and bring her piece home rather than have to come back on Monday. Makes sense. This time the artists seem to take too many liberties in naming their work. One piece had two ladies in a park and was called “Father to Father”. Another was completely abstract and called “Father.” And to make matters worse they were separated by only one other piece of art. What’s up with the whole father thing? The work was supposed to be related to “the soul” this time around (I think). Saw too many that seemed totally unrelated. Still, there was a much better turnout this time than a month ago.
Even with us leaving late, we decided to stay down at the square to hang out. After circling a couple times for a spot, we decided to maybe get an appetizer at Tsunami Taqueria. We were told the wait was 30 minutes, and it was already after 9pm. We tried elsewhere, and wound up at Hemingway’s. I only stopped because there was a band inside playing Crowded House’s “Something So Strong.” Curious to see what else they might play and they didn’t disappoint, with songs like “Do Ya” from ELO and “No Matter What” by Badfinger. The band was called Housebroken and I wouldn’t mind seeing them again actually. We ordered some artichoke and spinach dip that wasn’t bad, but no drinks. It’s kind of a shame that we didn’t order more because both of use commented that it’s the best service we have had in a very long while. And it was rather loud in there so not sure how the waitress could stand trying to take orders.
