Thursday I left work around 6:05pm, which is certainly not my goal. I was one of few who had to go to the office after our charity event for a meeting. Today I was going in for another meeting. I mention when I left yesterday because when I arrived today a cancellation notice was waiting for me from the person I was to meet with. The odd thing is I saw the guy on the elevator and he was talking to someone else. I wasn’t sure if he recognized me and I was going to ask him if we were still on for our meeting, but I opted not to say anything. Now I know to check my mail each morning on Friday before going there, otherwise I could have worked at home. Typically, working there is more productive, but in this case I felt like I was just responding to questions and it was hard to make serious progress on work. But I did manage to get out of there around 4:40pm.
I had been searching part of the day for a Redbox to rent “Tron: Legacy”, but was having no luck. Every place was miles away and not worth driving to get it. But when I got home I found a Blockbuster Express right up the street. Too good to be true, as when I went to pick it up tonight the machine was “out of order.” So then I had to call and the guy canceled it. From the way he sounded, it seemed like this happened often. Poor Blockbuster Express. I had an incident with them before where it would not take a coupon code. If they aren’t careful, they might just end up like the place in which they took their name – Blockbuster (the companies are actually not affiliated).
Anyway, we ended up watching “Undercover Blues” as a family. Julie and I have seen it probably 2-3 times, but the kids really liked it. I personally think it has Stanley Tucci’s finest performance. Check it out.
